Hurricane Katrina

Our country is a mess. People have died, are hungry, are in pain, are homeless and displaced. College students who had been at their new college for 1 day, without transcripts, without any record of high school diplomas, and are without a campus. People are lost, waiting for help, in despair. The changes Hurricane Katrina have brought to the SouthEast parts of the United States will have effects that will last for a long time.
Yet our country has a history of forgetting. Pray that we wouldn't forget these kids who need transportation, for the families who are struggling to eat or survive, for those who are just struggling to make it through the day. Please pray that our students would figure out the ways that we would not forget, but rather seek safety, housing, care, jobs, basic needs, and lots of love for and on behalf of those who need it. Pray that God would lead us to how he wants us to respond.
