Zucchini. Center stage.

I remember, for months, twiddling my thumbs or something similar waiting, yearning for the plants in my garden to grow from seed (if I started them) to small plant (if someone else started them) to food in my mouth.
Well, the time is now.
I'm able to harvest small or gigantor handfuls of food every.single.day.
And the food that is currently occupying most of my bandwith is zucchini (sorry other food -- tomatoes and chard, you're not doing too bad yourselves!).
It's delicious, goes far, grows big.
It can be put into a savory meal such as ratatouille (a summer fave) or a frittata or a favorite homemade recipe sauteed with crushed tomatoes, parmesan cheese with herbs over scrumptious grains.
It can also go into sweet treats like chocolate zucchini cake or waffles and pancakes or our family's beloved zucchini chocolate chip muffins.
It can go stealth into food without (grown ups or) kids ever knowing.
It can go bold and fill up a plate and stomach.
If striped zucchini end up on your porch with no one in sight, consider yourself Zucchini Bombed!  It's bound to happen this time of year, particularly if you have more than one zucchini plant.
Well, off to make 10,000 zucchini recipes.
Come over if you'd like to cook, harvest, or eat some zukes with us!
over and out
