Neighborhood Contentment

A glimpse of neighborhood contentment from this past week:

My next door neighbor helped me update one of my garden boxes due to my condition that suggests lifting heavy things, etc is not a good idea. Not only did she mix new soil in with the old, but also set up the actual garden box. And helped me plant a few more things in one of my container gardens. Here's to great watering and tasty produce!
The garden box was done while her daughter hung out with MJ.
It was completed after I picked her up from work (they are a 1 car family currently and she didn't have a car at the time).
After the gardening stint, her daughter continued hanging out with fussbucket mcgee (MJ) while I got a date with my ezer.

A couple days later, our car went to the neighbor's (the daughter) prom to provide an air conditioned chariot. Nothing fancy, but it's a ride.
A camera also went along for the ride to document said prom (the only dance this neighbor has ever participated in).

Also, there was a lot of hanging out with little kiddos on the block this week. That is typically a great relaxer and fun for the whole gang sort of thing. Outdoors. Other little buddies. Even some good adult conversations. Contentment.

Today I was able to give 3 books to my friend Russell who asks for change or food or BOOKS (or socks) in exchange for a smile, high five or a little bit of conversation. He told me that he'd already read one of the books before but would read it again and that the books were worth more than a dollar and would give him four days of reading. He also seemed happy about the type of books since he commented that often books only offer about 4 hours of reading time. Anyway, Russell is cool and if you want to share any cool books (not westerns or romance novels) you just have sitting around, let me know!
