currently the future of kids and families and teachers and administrators are waiting to find out what the final decision will be about 9 schools that are slated to close at the end of this school year. the board will decide tonight.
apparently there are 3 schools that might stay open.
2 other schools will hear which one will close in a couple weeks from now.
these are all schools in our neighborhood.
yet 2 other schools nearby are untouchable in the closures because they're high priority schools.
most of these schools are located in neighborhoods that are teeming with life and culture and talent and heart, but are under-resourced financially and in some other ways.
as i and my neighbors anxiously wait to hear the results of the school board's decision, i want to be present to pray for those who are both speaking up and those deciding. there are kids and communities and dollars and livelihoods involved. may the right choice spring forth.
