underneath and on the surface, lots of what happens in life is based on perception.
we perceive people will like us if we dress a certain way or act a certain way.

serna center parking lot -- 2 guys, latino, in a beat up pick up truck. kindness (dropped paper 5 minutes before) -- they pointed it out
friend slighted based on skin color -- perception. leads to anger (for her and me)
